According to Indeed, “we define ‘best jobs’ as those offering an average salary of more than $70,000 and have had a consistently growing share of jobs postings from 2015-2018”.
Tech jobs continue to lead
With the booming tech industry, it was no surprise that tech-related jobs, such as machine learning engineer and full-stack developer, topped the list.
Indeed reported that global interest in Canadian tech jobs have increased by 58% since 2015, which has helped IT become Canada’s fastest growing sector. With over 30,000 tech jobs having opened up since, this is great for newcomers with career experience in this field.
Not in tech? Not to worry.
What was interesting, however, were the three non-tech occupations on the list. Veterinarian and financial controller jobs respectively came in second and third, while dentistry was at number five.
The demand for non-tech jobs is still here. A study from Statistics Canada found that job vacancies in health care and social assistance increased by 19% over the same quarter last year.
